Teaching on line is a little like gardening.Like plants, students need a healthy and fertile environment if they are going to mature and thrive in their online courses. My passion for positive results has enabled me to decide the most appropriate teaching methods and content to maximize the potential of each student

 

Years of experience have enabled me to assess and quickly identify a student's strengths and weaknesses. Based on initial assessment, an individualised Learning Plan (ILP) will be built.

 

Each programme is designed taking into account any parental history which may assist. I encourage feedback because it helps me redirect my ILP with the most accuracy and for the maximum benefit of the student.

 

 Because I enjoy helping the student in a global fashion, I try to broaden the student's knowledge beyond just learning another language. It is important to integrate cultures and worldwide events . Personal interests are  also targetted and woven into the ILP to create greater motivation.

Each student responds to differing methods of information. As a teacher in Specialised Education, I know how to identify certain memory techniques and help students to store and recall information most  effectively. English is hard enough with so many rules and exceptions.

 

 I use color, song, drama, visualisation, among other techniques to help master the language.

When one hears the spoken word it is often easier to grasp and understand. Open communication enriches and empowers the students to feel more comfortable in expressing themselves.

 

Allowing the students flexibility  to learn in a way in which they are successful, encourages them  to make choices on how to explore the language using different learning styles.

For instance, a learner can watch a video lecture if they prefer visual learning, listen to the same lecture while they are driving or exercising if they prefer audio, or even read the transcript if text learning is their preference.

 

In online learning, students create their own learning experience; it not only puts the student at the centre of the learning experience, but also makes them responsible for their own learning.

I  custom-select  portions of ersonalised courses to help students use their strengths to support (or even overcome) their weaknesses. 

 

In so doing I believe each student succeeds in learning and comunicating more effectively in a serious, yet enjoyable fashion.
